The Royal Enclosure, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is home to several well-preserved castles that were built by Emperor Fasilides and his successors. The city’s rich history as a former imperial capital is reflected in its impressive architecture, including the Church of Debre Berhan Selassie, known for its beautiful frescoes and unique ceiling paintings of angel faces.
